Ghandi

Most people dislike dealing with conflict, but it is part of life.

Do you react immediately with emotion, or do you take time to reflect and give meaningful thought to the situation before responding?

A reaction is instant, a response takes time –

And that time is where growth happens”.

To mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, godmothers, bereaved mothers, mothers-to-be, foster mothers, mothers-in-law, caring aunts, guiding mentors, spiritual mothers, and every woman who has ever nurtured a soul with tenderness, wisdom, and unwavering love, this day celebrates you.

“To live in the hearts of those we love is not to die.”

Marcus Tullius Cicero – Philippics

May 3rd is International Bereaved Mother’s Day

This day serves an important role in not only honouring the memories of lost children but also in providing a source of comfort and support for mothers who are struggling with the grief of their loss.

A mother can lose her baby to a variety of causes, including miscarriage, stillbirth, or death. There may also be mothers who struggle to get pregnant. These grieving mothers can feel hurt, unworthy, lonely, and isolated. In response to that, we celebrate International Bereaved Mothers’ Day so these mothers feel important and loved by the world. On this day, people from all over the world engage in various activities to make the mothers of the bereaved feel special.

Wishing a gentle bereaved Mother’s Day to every heart that beats with a Mother’s love…

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Winston Churchill

Wishing everyone who celebrates Orthodox Easter a very Happy Easter!

The topic of public speaking in episode 220 was inspired by a Debate and speech competition that I was a Judge for recently. The competitors were youth in junior and senior high school.

With many youth and adults fearing public speaking, I believe this is a great topic for me to share resources to help overcome that fear.

Fear of public speaking is a common form of anxiety. It can range from feeling a little nervous to extreme fear and panic. You may try not to speak publicly, or you may do so with trembling hands and a shaky voice. But by preparing, practicing and getting help if needed, you can overcome your fear.

An effective speaker knows that the success or failure of his talk is not for him to decide - it will be decided in the minds and hearts of his hearers.

"Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”

William Arthur Ward

Wishing everyone who celebrates a Happy Easter!

The topic of ‘gratitude’ seemed fitting for this Easter Sunday show.

Gratitude starts with noticing the goodness in life.

Gratitude is the expression of appreciation for what one has.

Gratitude can pull us through tough times.

Gratitude appears to have a domino effect. If a person experiences gratitude, they are more likely to recognize the help and then later reciprocate that help (Wood et al., 2010)

“Think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flames within us”.

Albert Schweitzer

Just be you. I've learned the hard way and in the end, some people are just so full of hate that no matter what you say or do, they'll always have something to say.

Megan Fox

Do you feel that someone is envious of you? This can be a challenge for us as we try to stay positive.

Negativity from a jealous person is often rooted in their own issues. Many people project their internal struggles onto others, especially when they feel threatened or envious. It’s essential to recognize that their behavior is more about them than it is about you. We need to allow ourselves to forgive what happened, let go of what hurt us, and make space for something better.

Setting clear boundaries is essential when dealing with jealous or critical individuals. Also, having a strong support system helps us stay confident in our abilities and reinforces the idea that we are not defined by others’ opinions. By surrounding ourselves with positivity, we can drown out the noise of negativity and focus on what really matters—our personal and professional growth!

Today, I allow myself to forgive what happened, let go of what hurt me, and make space for something better.
