“If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.”
― Jack Kornfield

At the beginning of the year, I believe most people are setting resolutions or goals for themselves. As we are working on growing or improving our skills, it’s also important to take a look at our mindset, including some ‘self’ words like:

  • self-awareness

  • self-respect

  • self-compassion

  • self-esteem

“When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everyone will respect you.” ― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

“You must find the courage to leave the table if respect is no longer being served.” Tene Edwards

This quote beautifully illustrates that self-respect isn’t selfish-it’s essential. Staying where you’re not valued isn’t loyalty; it’s self-abandonment disguised as love.

Have you ever felt like a friend doesn’t care about you? The difference between healthy and toxic friendships is that in healthy friendships, unspoken expectations are met.

This episode is about when we feel that a friend doesn’t care about us and how to respond. Communicating our feelings is key, but sometimes it may be best for us to let go of the relationship and move on.

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Bernard M. Baruch
